I didn't realize speech was banned on this site. I got my post removed, and I don't like being silenced. That tells me there's a liberal, progressive demoncrat who's doing the monitoring on this forum. They hate free speech, as well as the constitution. i

didn't realize
Darrell,

Not a good way to start off your membership at SBO. Clearly some users read the forum guidelines and some don't.

BTW I was the one who deleted your post, and many other "political in-nature" posts like it, and I do NOT fit your rude and highly inaccurate stereo type posted above. We have RULES here and I would suggest you understand them before posting.

Forum Guidelines (Please Read Before Posting)

SBO is NOT the federal government and we DO and CAN sensor or delete posts when users choose to ignore our extremely fair & reasonable forum guidelines we have laid out. These forums are privately owned and operated and your right to free speech is grated so long as if follows are simple rules for use. If you want free speech go yell BOMB in an airport security line and see how far that gets you..;)

If you want to talk politics there is always the War Room and about 10,000 other political forums for you to choose from. If you type a political troll here in the SAILING forums you will have your post put right in the trash bin. it is a simple policy, politics, unless in the war room, = trash bin..:D

Well said Maine Sail. Keep all the outrageous rants sequestered in the War Room. I visit this site for the great advice and knowledge I receive about sailing.
A happy and safe holiday season to all from 'down under'.
PS. All I want for xmas is for my shattered leg to heal so I can start sailing again.
Cheers to all!

I wish the extremes of all flavors could find it within themselves to consider that their opinion was no more valid than another persons opinion. For several reasons I think that full keel sailboats are preferable at the same time I know that for many reasons fin keel and center board boats have advantages.

At least get the terminology right. Do you lean port or starboard? ;-)

BTW, found out last night that I can expect an AIS transponder in my stocking.

In those foggy waters off the coast that may come in very handy.

As for port or starboard , it depends on what tack I am on at the moment pretty far in each direction depending on how the wind is blowing at the time.

Tim, I think it might depend if you are aft looking ahead or forward looking aft! Anyway, Stu, it looks like a small part of my last post was modified! I was hoping that you might catch the hint and make your way to the bilge because your side seems to be under-represented and we could use a little controversy to stir things up!

So, to stay on-topic, I wish for Stu (and even Alan) to re-connect with the mud-slinging denizens of the bilge! Wait until after New Years if you wish to stay pure in 2010.

Hey Santa Baby-I want a new multitool, one of those 3W LED flashlights from the WM catalog, 2 new bulkhead lights, new LED rope lighting to replace the incadescent courtesy lights, a roll of that lon seal laminate so I can redo Emmanuel's cabin sole, auto inflate life jacket and those really hot Guess boots I saw at Macy's last week. I wish I could say I've been a good girl this year but we both know I'd be lying..

POTL, you left out the snow shovel and the insulated boots. We had a dusting of snow this morning. Winter is coming.

Can we add both their IQ's together so we can come close to intelligent?
Lets see if I got this straight, you want both good looks and intelligence in one package?
You're not asking for too too much for Christmas are you? All this after how many cocktails? Or, how many days at sea before they become good looking?

Keep it up,
Ctskip

lol!! i really dont drink... as for days at sea-- lol...if a man can SAIL a boat, and handle emergencies well, and can fix stuff as it breaks,he is hired-- short fat and whatever-- tall skinny and hardheaded, doesnt matter....and as long as cumulative total IQ is greater than that of godzilla, we are good to go......
maybe i should see if my family can save up for a spot to see where their sis/kid/wt.. is.....

Lean Left or Right?

I sway back and forth knocking between my knees as I rock port and starboard.

Aw shucks, I wasn't representing any side, just giving the opposite of what our new "friend" said. I didn't notice any mods. Bilge slinging: now there's a new SPORT!:D

IN regard to the political postings. A philosopher once said, "Diplomacy is the art of calling a man a son of a bitch and having him thank you for it. Fair Winds, Full Sails and your Christmas wishes come true....

A Rabbi, A Priest and an Imamtogether consulted with God and asked it there would ever be peace between the Muslims ,the Jews and the Christians. God said, yes-- But not in my lifetime.

I just bought one of these for my wife for Christmas. I know, I know, I am just one seriously romantic guy. It was either this or a Pandora bracelet. I think I went the right way!
