...tempted to jump in on the political bandwagon but I do have a short list of boat stuff. Let's see - sail covers, solar panel, new halyards, new sails, life lines, tiller extender, stereo, tiller-autopilot, swim ladder, new outboard, depth sounder, chartplotter, roller furler, anchor mount, ... there must be more.
I know I'm getting sail covers 'cause I just finished ordering them - there are advantages (and distinct disadvantages) to being Santa.

i want my friends all to be healthy and happy and i want good breezes and gentle seas for those of us sailing soon and always...may politicians cease lying and may we please get our ssi and ssdi raises for cost of living ...smaller portions at same price is increased cost of living.
and i want a packing gland and chainplates. i know i am getting packing gland..spoke direct with the real santa......

I just want a gallon and a half of bottom paint. I am willing to trade world peace and the Chargers making the playoffs for it. Cuz neither of those things are going to happen anyway.
If Santa is in a real giving mood, a new trailer for the Catalina 22 would be nice too!

How about a decient boat yard in the greater Dallas area that is not only trustworthy but also one where the service personal actually know what they are doing. I don't mind paying for quality service, but it's the quality of the service I question.

First time in the posting...been lurking awhile though. All I want for Xmas is a longer sailing season...like 12 months instead of 5. Winter sucks!:cussing:

Ross, I'd think about heading south but then I wouldn't be in Canada anymore. And short of a lottery win sailing the tropical waters anywhere is but a dream...sigh.

I know the feeling. I don't play the lottery but I asked a math major friend about the odds of winning the lottery. She said they are about the same . I asked same as what? she buyng a ticket or not buying a ticket.
Solar panels and refrigeration for the ice box are the only items left on the project list and would complete Free Spirit with all the creature comforts a captain and crew could ask for.

Time and weather to finish my boat before spring. Maybe a few nice days in the winter to go out and "get my feet wet", hopefully without actually getting wet

Stu's post got removed, too. You can get as political as you like in the War Room. Some of us are even there for fun! It's a little one-sided these days ... If you like one-sided arguments, you'll feel right at home.
My Christmas wishes include some snow for the holidays and a nice ski season. There's no sense in lamenting over a boat that is on blocks for another 4 months!
