I have a grandson who will soon be joining me on board my Oday 25. I have heard of netting that can be installed to the safety lines, when small children are onboard. Does anyone have any experience and recommendations on what and where to purchase?

Netting...

I had this on my 25 for a number of years as kids came along (caught more than one kid and bounced them back into the cockpit), and is useful if you cruise with dogs. Any marine store can find it. And most rope suppliers have it. Its available in almost all marine catalogues. I had white on for a few years but it got quite stained by algae and dirt and looked bad in very short order. Switched to black and I quite like the looks, showed no stains and seemed to last longer. Its a bit more difficult to find but its out there. I reaved the lifeline through the top and tied the bottom using small stuff drilling a few extra holes through the teak toe rail as attachment points. Also tried cable ties. These lasted a few years and were easy to replace. All in all an good addition to the safety of your family. Don
