Was all set to build a custom glass holding tank into my H37C. Even had some patterns cut. But discussions here on HOW and with other experts convinced me to go with plastic. Ronco has already shipped a 22 gal. tank(34"x12"x12", #b128) with my specified hose locations. This tank will go in the center v-berth locker, barely! This is where the bladder tank was located. I have a mockup and know that I will have to enlarge the opening. I will do that to starboard so that the hose connections will be easier to access. The tank will mount against the inside/aft-most bulkhead of that locker. The reason it is such a tight fit is that I need 16" of depth, the fittings are on top and need clearance. At 16" down and 12" forward there is almost exactly 34" of width. I'll take pictures of the installation.

Wise decision, Capn. Link

Ed: I think you made a wise decision. Probably saved you money and lots of time. At least when you have problems with this tank you can blame others (Peggy, Ronco, Me and a few others). I had another question, have you ever had a post that did not have an associated link? I think that your new "Handle" should be changed to "Captain Link"<g>.

Missing Link?

Sounds like you're putting the tank in the same place I did. My calc's come up with 21 Gallons for you, which is good. i put a std. 13 gallon tank in and get about 6-10 uses before it is effectively full. Of course if you sail flat all the time it'll hold more. btw, I got my rudder in the garage, ready to work on. Had to dig a hole 3 feet deep to drop it.

Hi Gary,

Long time no hear 'um. Ronco was great to work with on the tank. And charged me less than the catalog price. Last Saturday I put the tank in the hole for a test fit. I had to make the center v-berth opening larger to get it in. Since I wanted the hose connections exposed for installation I cut out a piece to starboard, about 8" to the left and 14" back to front. This let the tank drop in to place and gives access to the plumbing. Now I have to do the glass work for the supports which will require warmer weather. I plan to post pictures later. But it's in there(34x12x12) and I can still get around it to the log and depth transducers. Sorry, no Link. :)
