Well I hope spring comes soon to Chicago after a mild winter. May get snow storm today but still not a bad winter.

Of course I stored my sails nice and cozy in the basement and just remembered I have a slight tear on my RF jib. The adjustable leech line that's sewn into the leech, came loose near the spreaders and caught and opened the seam a foot or two.

Anyway any experience with local lofts? Thanks....

Both Doyle and North are just North of Downtown and good. I've worked with both. Either can sort out your jib.

Hopefully the loft will suggest a reinforcing patch over the spreader contact area. Same goes if the sail might drag across the steaming light.

I had the exact same problem. I worked with North Sails and they did a great job of cleaning the genoa, repaired the leech/leech line and made repairs to a few other areas they found that needed help.

I worked with Tom Pease.

I've worked with Tom P. up here in Milwaukee. He is the best, if you try around, you'll end up back with him.
Not to mention the support he'll provide for you in the future.
Too bad you did'nt ask before Strickly Sails.......

The karma yachts guys connected me with Doyle in Chicago for the gennaker on "Persistence". John Baxter was great, came out and made sure the performance was what we were looking for. In many , years of owning race boats , NOrth seemed to be only interested in the big programs. They're two of the three sail lofts with service.
