Someday it would be really cool to get a bunch of us from the North, South, and Middle Bay that are on here to meet up somewhere in the middle. Somewhere like St. Mary's, Smith Creek, Or Solomons Island. I am thinking more of a remote area where a large raft-up could be done.

What do you guys think?

God willin' & the creek don't rise"... I ( & possible other SBO folks) hope to be up that way the week before 4th of July weekend (6/26- 7/3) sailing with BBSA (http://www.broadbaysailing.org) on our Summer 2011 cruise.

There's a couple of active clubs which do what you suggest...HSA1, Northern Star and another group in the south which I don't know much about.

HSA1 is chartering boats in Croatia right now. (A bit far from the Bay!)

That is my local group. I have found that organizing sailing outings with other sailors can be a bit frustrating because everyone seems to not commit and just show up or they don't show up.

I'm game, There are a lot of nice raft up spots on the Choptank and Little Choptank also.
Since I'm out of Harring Bay I'll volenteer to be the host boat if we can work out a time.

I'm game, as well. Perhaps the first thing to do would be to make a "scatter-gram" with a dot on the map of who is coming and from where. An equidistant destination location should then become apparent.

FYI, it was near 70-deg here yesterday -- and the perfect day to get some early spring maintenance done. I'm planning on a spring splash around the last week of March, assuming no ice in the harbor....(smile)

I'm game, too. My boat is currently on the hard in Solomons, but I plan on moving her to Pax River's West Basin Marina for the season, so this would be right in my neighborhood!

Sounds like fun. Im up for that as well. I have set a goal of getting to the Choptank for an over night this seson. And man am I sorry I missed that 70 degree day. My compnay sent me to Saudi to deal with flooding. Nothing but lamb and fruit juice for me for the next few weeks.
