How can one tell if the boat is a Cherubini model?
Mine is a 1982 Hunter 33
What makes it so?

If your boat is 32 1/2 ' in length and was built by Hunter Marine between 1778 and 1983 it was designed by John Cherubini. That does not make it a Cherubini. Cherubinis are buillt in New Jersey by the Cherubini family and start out about 2 million dollars more than your Hunter. There was a Cherubini Raider 33 which was a wonderful racer/cruiser. Used that would only have cost you 15 to 25 thousand more than your Hunter cost you.

That being said, I have had my 1983 Hunter 33 since 1997, have put lots more into it than I paid for it and am very fond of it. It is a solid boat and is easier to work on than just about anything else I have seen out there. I can only hope you enjoy your Hunter as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Dear Sam, Thank you for your repply.
I bought thsi boat for $1000.00, for it's motor
But could not resist keeping it, so I was lucky enough to find an exact boat in a salvage yard.
So I have removed almost all that I need, every Friday I work like a slave, but got winches, both rails, teak hand rails, etc, and am going now to put the mast up.
It was removed after Ike, when the boat almost climbed up a tree and the mast got tangled up
Damage was on starboard side, a gash along the cabin, which I repaired; all stanchions on that side were broken, but I have 4 more.
Last week my son fiddled with electrics, now everything works, water runs, very excited.
I feel like I brough this boat from the dead; all other boats either sank or were destroyed, except the Hunter.
If I have your e-mail address, I will send pictures.
Please allow me to contact you agai, aswell as all the nice Hunter 33 owners, I need your help.
Thanks again
Jorge Fife

Jorge; That is fantastic! A great story. I would like very much to see the pictures, but I'm sure other members of the site would also like to see them now that the story is out. You should post them either in this forum or the Cherubini Huntes forum. Either way you can get to me at: samlust *at* verizon *dot* net

Jorge, thanks for the story. All of the Hunter Cherubini owners on this site have similar stories but certainly not to that degree. That is quite a history Sam, "1778 to 1983". :) Actually there are 1985 H37C's that are Cherubinis, probably built in 1984.

Also Jorge you will find as Sam mentioned that we have our own forum, "The Cherubini Hunters" under "Hunter Owner Forums". You will find occasional input from John Cherubini JR who has also restored one of his father's designs. JC II as he is known has a lot of insight to the boats.

It is very easy to post pictures here. Use "Post Reply" instead of "Quick Reply" and you will find options below the message box for loading pictures. Post something here if you have trouble with that.

P.S. Here is an example of the kind of work JC does on his H25: http://forums.hunter.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?p=596816 .

This is a message from a dummy to both Sam and Ed, both trying to help:
I WANT to post some photos to encourage prospective owners of Hunters who could, like I, bring alive these boats
I see the "Post repply" button, but not how to post pictures
I need more help as to where in this web page do I go to post pictures
Cannot figure out!
Don't feel bad to ignore me, you also have a life

Select the (reply w/quote) button. When the reply window comes up, look a little further down the page and in the next section you'll see a (Upload Photos or Files Here) button. Just select that and you'll see a few buttons that allow you to browse through your computer to where you have the pictures stored. You can load a picture on each button, scroll down and then select (upload) to put them on your post. Hope this helps. Here's a picture of my 79 Hunter 30. I uploaded it just to make sure I could help you :)

One more thing, if you are just doing a new post, just scroll down the window and you should see the "upload Photos or Files Here" button in the next section.
