Okay, I just must be visually impaired since I can't seem to see the gimballing feature hardware (referenced in my previous blog) OR the dipstick to check the tranny fluid. I have been so impressed by how innovative Catalina is with regard to so many features on this beautiful boat. However,I can not find the dipstick to check the tranny fluid. If one were looking dead on at the engine, with the dipstick for the oil being over at approximately, say, 9:00, where would I find this? PO kept boat in immmaculate condition, including all manuals, in which there is no reference anywhere regarding tranny.

the gimballing feature usually sometimes is a spring loaded lever under the oven door at the bottom of the front of the stove. On my C36 the trans dip stick looks like an oversized bolt on the top rear port side of the trans. Also you need to know if the level is checked with the stick screwed in or out. On mine the level is checked with the stick screwed in.

find your engine, and look at the pictures.
If that doesn't work, find out what transmission you have and find their website.
Most likely a Hurth transmission and the dipstick IS the same as the fill hole on the top, cleverly hidden under the heat exchanger.
