My wife and I are ready to move up to a larger and roomier sail boat and have been looking for a Catalina 30. We currently have a MacGregor 26D and don't like the head room (what head room ?). We both had a chance to crew on a 1979 Hunter 30' last weekend for 4 hours and truly enjoyed the experience. We have been told that,compared to a catalina, a hunter is a faster and better build boat. Specifically in hull blistering and deck fracture problems. Also, my friend mentioned that his Hunter would point closer to windward than a friend's catalina 30' What do you owners think ?
