Checking a used 23.5

I am looking to buy a used 23.5, probably around a '95 or '96. I don't know a lot about these boats so the articles, reviews, etc have been very helpful.Question... if you were looking at a used boat, what would you specifically check? I'm familiar with the obvious stuff, like condition of sails, age

Take the boat out for a sail . . .

I bought a used 23.5 (1993) and have been very happy with it. Sounds like you have a good idea of what to look for. How does the bottom look? Is it painted, if so when and with what? If you will trailer check the condition of the tires. On the 23.5 check the function of the rope that raises and lowers the centerboard. Have fun as you begin to refit the boat . . .
