Just wanted to pass this on. Taking advantage of a rainy day to check for leaks last weekend on my 1994 23.5, I decided to unscrew the winch mount access plates in the cabin. I removed one access plate and to my surprise a nut and washer fell out onto the cabin floor! Apparently over the years the winch mounting hardwaqre had loosened up. All four bolts were loose on both winches!. I'd imagine there are a lot of loose winch mounting hardware out there and boatowners might not even know it. I know most people don't use their winches on a 23.5 but when my petite wife mans the jib sheets she uses the winches. Fair winds, Jonathan Costello Heeling Powers
