I have done some looking, Kito, for self stick flooring in plank form and seem to only be able to find the type with the adhesive flaps on the side and end. Am I correct in assuming the flooring you used had adhesive already applied over the whole surface protected by some sort of backing paper/film that was peeled off after cutting?
Hi Richard. Sorry for the slow response. I was out of town for 2 weeks with no internet access :( My planks had glue on the entire bottom surface with a peel-off film. I would think that is much better than just on the perimeter, especially on a boat.

Kito, I just got back from Lowes, I found the planks for .98 each so I got 20 planks. I should be able to do mine for around $30 total.
Cool! Let me know how it goes and post some pictures.

What did you use as a spacer to create reproducible and even gaps for the caulk between the strips?

It looks like Lowes still sells a few "species" in 4" widths, but they are all versions of oak, so the grain would be more prominent that I would like. The maple is beautiful Kito, great job.
I first laid them out dry from port to starboard so not to end up with a sliver on one side. I ended up just using a piece of 1/4" starboard to use as a spacer. When you take the film off, you can place it and still move it a bit. After it's positioned then press it down. It also helps to set them out in the sun for a few minutes to get the glue nice and gooey.
