Cheap inverters used in an emergency

This weekend we had a real dilemma: Whether to start the engine driven generator or use a cheap Radio Shack 350w inverter to run the blender so we could make strawberry daiquiris.

The cheapo inverter actually ran our Oster 110v blender. It did do some complaining but otherwise did the job.

Disclaimer: Do not try this at home. These are paid professionals on a closed circuit.

Good call. The distracting noise from an idling engine might have caused you to not put in enough rum. Scary to think of it. [shudders]

i use a cheap radio shack 120 wt invertor for my netbook when i dont have shore power--omg yes i am in a marina now with air conditioning--is too hot and humid in mazatlan for no a/c.....and i am in marina until named storm season is done with. then i go to anchoring again and sailing ......and the a/c unit will not be in use until i HAVE to use a marina in pair a dice again...
