Chasing Wires for Stereo

I have a Hunter 240 I recently bought, and decided to install an auto stereo I had laying around. I got a Poly-Planar case mount and have that mounted, along with some West Marine speakers. My problem now is I'm having a hard time chasing wires to be able to power the stereo and drive the speakers. I've tried using romex inner wires to try and push through from inner hull openings, but still haven't had any luck connecting anything. Does anyone have any hints or ideas about what I can do to get the wires I need run? Thanks!

A fish tape is the best tool for running wire through inaccessible spaces. This will be stiffer and more controllable than your Romex . They are available at most tool places, or at electrical stores.

Thanks Ken. I'll give it a try this week before I resort to more drastic measures (paying the pros to do it).

Wire fish tapes work well in conduit but not very well in spaces without guides. They also make fiberglass rods that can be screwed together in 3 foot lengths. I have used these to fish through fiberglass insulation in outside walls.

I'll second Ross' suggestion-

I have 2 6' fiberglas reach sticks that screw together, with loops on the end to tie to. You can get them at the depot (Ithink about 19.00 each). You can really jam em in and push thru foam or glue, them pull wires thru. They're lifesavers. Extremely flexible, about 1/4 inch diam.
