Check out this web site.
It has a package that overlays Google maps onto the NOAA Charts. This is a prelim demo so it lacks some functionality but it is neat because as you zoom in, the charts automatically change to the correct one for the area you are looking into. You can adjust the amount of each map (opacity) you see by the control sliders on the right side. It is a little slow sometimes. The highlighted areas are the only ones in the system yet, but these French guys are planning to do the world before they stop. Sag Harbor rocks? Zoom over and look ... Great lakes? Zoom over.. Nice!

I've seen this before

And it is still cool. But I wish the charts were transparent so both the satellite view and the chart data were visible.

opacity slider

There's a slider in the upper-right corner for opacity.

Thanks Kevin

Found the sliders and now it is way too cool. Can see both Chart and Satellite. Much better.

The next level

Well it is cool but Active Captain does the same thing but takes it to the next level and adds markers with sailors reviews. The Active Captain site is populated by sailors for sailors and has a wealth of data plus charts and can be run on a cell phone that uses Wndows Mobile professional. Check it out!

It's only slow

If you have a slow internet connection. It rips right out with my highspeed broad band connection.
