I've chartered with the catamaran company four times in the BVI. Most recently was February 2017. They have all fairly new boats, especially now after Irma. Their prices are 10 - 15% lower than Moorings and Sun Sail. Great helpful staff. We've had minor issues arise on each of the charters and they were all taken care of quickly either by radio or they sent out a Chase boat within a couple hours. In Feb 2019 I'm going again but using a different charter company, Marine Max. Their price was $1500 less than Cat Co on an 8 day/night charter with identical boats.

The Admiral and I considered what are the best cruising grounds we have sailed? We decided the best are archipelagos with the possibility of selecting different 1 to 4 hour day sails to match the wind and interest. They also have both excellent natural anchorages, and shore activities. On this basis, our top three cruising areas in no particular order are:

The British Virgins
The San Juans
The Erie Islands (This surprised us, but our home archipelago is a wonderful place! This is especially true during the week, away from the summer weekend crowd.)

Two more cruising grounds that meet the criteria are:
The Thousand Islands of the St. Lawrence River
The West Coast of Sweden, north of Gothenberg.

Archipelagos the are short on shore activities, but wonderful natural places include:
The North Channel
The Bay of Islands, NZ
The Apostle Islands

Top quality charter operations include:
The Moorings (we are willing to pay 10% to 15% more for top quality boats and support.)
Anacortes Yacht Charters
Canadian Yacht Charters
We have enjoyed all of our charters, but the others all fell short on something, or were private, lucky connections. The Fantasy 37 we sailed in the West Coast if Sweden was impeccable, but was only available through our Swedish friends.
