For those of you following Practical Sailor and their article on owning a Caribbean charter boat I can say they hit it right on the mark. If you are contemplating putting a boat in service with one of the companies definitely pick either Moorings or Sunsail. In this case bigger is better. Our goal was to finance a vacation, lower the cost of something we were going to do anyway, and be able to sail in different locations in the world for at least a month a year. Very good advice was given concerning becoming as close as you can to the maintenance supervisors. It's well worth doing. Bottom line on owning a charter boat....it's not an investment, but a great idea if you like to sail in areas around the world. Walt J Shammah
