Just wondering what happened to the sunken boat?
Still progressing on your project too?

Thanks, Dean

The salvage divers raised the boat Monday evening. She's up and stable, awaiting the tow to the yard. No obvious cause for the sinking was discovered. It is known that she had a leaking stuffing box and that power to the dock was lost for a period of time. The batteries may have gone flat and the pump then died later from overwork. Regardless, she's up and will be cleaned out as soon as she hits feet dry at the yard.

Islander/Wayfairer 30 sail number 25 Perryville,Md.
When I got my Islander the cockpit drains were quite small and a leaf could cover one so a few leaves in the cockpit and the cockpit would fill with rain water and down flood the boat over the 6 inch sill for one of the cockpit lockers. as soon as we had enough water to pull the cockpit sole below the waterline the boat was bound to sink. I cured that.

Yeah, Oh Joy has two 1" ID drains in the cockpit. I plan to enlarge those. My bridgedeck is about 18" so the water would have to be pretty deep to downflood and would start running off aft about the same time.
