What charting software is compatible with the Lowrance Globalmap 3300c? I assume Navionics is, but is there any others? Can any of the free software, such a SeaClear, be downloaded to the SD card that this unit uses? Thanks
I'm thinking no because as a dedicated nav instrument the actual navigation software is embedded into the chips in the circuit. I believe that the SD card only holds the charts that are access by the program. Seaclear and OpenCPN are programs written to operate on a laptop running it's on operating system. I could be wrong though.
You might be able to save route/track info to a standard sd card (not to one with charts). If it's anything like Lowrance, the file will be in a proprietary format which will need to be converted. I use GPSBabel for that. Seems to work pretty well. I can also recommend SeaClear and OpenCPN with a strong bias for OpenCPN.
