Charger orientation

Is there any reason why this 80 amp Charles solid state charger must be oriented vertically? We could gain a lot of space if we moved it and to do so it would have to be mounted horizontally. The area is dry and there is little chance of any liquid reaching it.

is there cooling fins on the back of some sort of heat sink that need circulation it may require and updraft of air to not overheat

It is designed to be mounted vertically for cooling... Air may not flow through it adequately enough when mounted horizontally..

You might be able to put a cooling fan in the compartment, like a computer biscuit fan, to compensate for the loss of cooling due to horizontal orientation.
