Robby you're right

The point you made regarding the yard calling is right on - the time to inform the owner there is problems is early on when things start to go south! A lot of repair guys out there just assume people are going to pay the shot, before I do a repair I like to give a firm quote for the repair. It scares the crap out of people some times but I would rather do that and ensure the guy knows what he is dealing with rather than have the argument with customer after! The down side to this is that sometimes I end up working for $5 bucks an hour (and thats Canadian!!!) if I run into something stubborn, but I can usually tell from looking at something how bad it's going to be - any yard should be able to do this for you. You are also right about the level of quality of work, I don't take shortcuts so I know the quality of my repair is first class, I'd rather make a little less money and make sure the customer is 100% happy and will call me next time he/she needs something!
