Went to the boat today to do some minor work on the washdown system and found a mess. This is an example of how to successfully render your beloved boat into an utter state of confusion. I know the interior is here somewhere, I just HOPE Joan doesn't see this post and what I've done to her best cleaning efforts. 63 more days until back in the WATER :) Jim S/V Java

Jim,

My boat looks about the same,I might just clean up tommorow and get it fresh for another mess. I clean as I go when I'm working but it seems on the boat there are always more than one project going at a time and with little room for tools and stuff

#1:Get a very large trash can

# 2:As you pick something up decide keep or toss. No second thoughts! Don't just put it down to decide later. #3: Carry trash can to the dumpster. Open the side door. DON'T look in!!! enpty trash can> close dumpster. Return to boat. Repeat 1 thru 3 as often as needed. D:

Jim, Once she sees those flowering plants, she'll go weak in the knees and will not notice how you have destroyed the boat. Women go weak-kneed in the presence of flowers. Feb 17 chipping off the ice!! New headsail and whisker pole. Yippee. Peter

It was 55 here today

One of my slip mates I considered stealing a H54 and go sailing. Of course it would not be stealing, we were checking out systems.....*5 For all you guys down south - wish I was there the weather tomorrow is going to turn cold... Joan is laying here next to me as we get ready for bed. I don't dare show her the picture of the boat or I'll be down the hall. She is real tired!! While I was on the boat she was entertaining the grandchildren all afternoon. She be sleepy. Jim S/V Java

Chaos? That's not even untidy!!

Jim, The only time my boat is as neat and tidy as your picture is the day before launch. Please do not post pictures like that, the rest of us will be found out! It seems like I need to do a 2 hour clean up about every fourth weekend just so I can get out of the boat (maybe I need smaller projects?). Looking forward to April.

Jim: I feel

... your pain. Think about it this way: we are over the winter hump, the days are getting longer, and spring launch is just around the corner.

thanks

I thought I was the only one. Started to draining the diesel oil. I gave up after the cramps started. Then there are the water leaks. So the cushions we3nt from horizontal to vertical for the season. Lines? What lines? Those be halliards, and sheets! In case she sinks into the hard, I need those fenders inside to keep her afloat! Look, if the floor stays open, it will air out! Well, I'll clean up the galley when I have water, when the warm weather returns. Now is the best time to paint, and I need the turps to clean the brushes, and the cans to hold the brushes,a nd the rags to clean up everything. It takes time. Common now. You need a large jar of pretzels in case you get hungry. No, those aren't hoses. Those are my extension cords so I can get electricity to run the vacuum to suck up the water in the bilge. That's why the vacuum in is in the cabin. See, it all makes sense.

Seadaddler..

I found a yard that lets you paint your own bottom and do what ever you want but ya gotta be gone and out of the yard by April 1st. and I am planning a trip out east this summer, as a matter of fact I'm going to do around the Island and go to Conn. so I will look ya up. I'm out your way a lot cause my kids and the ex live in Southhold so I know the neighborhood real well! been commuting between Islip and Southhold for over 12 years now, its getting easier cause the kids are old enough to take the train and for 6.00 its cheaper than gas

Shame on you Jim......

I see no beer cans, not even one. I think you'd better explain yourself mister..... If I make a mess like that, and have tools all over and a cradle underneath, you can bet your sweet bippy there's gonna be beer cans eveywhere. Ferg
