I am a new O'Day owner and would like to switch to all line halyards. It is a 25'. What size sheaves do I need
changing the sheaves from line/wire splice to just line.

Rudy Nickerson of D&R Marine would probably know whether you can go with the existing sheaves. http://www.drmarine.com/ He'll need to know the make of your spars. It's safe to say that you will get a better price for halyards than West Marine. I bought a Main and a Jib Halyard a couple of years ago off Rudy and I spliced my own shackles to them myself.
I just bought 30' of RG8X coaxial cable last week at Worst Marine at $1.99 a foot!!!
Rbone I heard that the sheave might wear my line out quicker. It being a line/splice sheave. What's your take on the that?
I've noticed a little bit of wear on the end where the halyard sits on the sheave. That was mostly from last year when I cranked pretty hard on the halyard to tighten the luff of my new gennie and I changed to internal halyards with one sheave taking all the pressure instead of two. I haven't seen any more wear on it this year. Shouldn't have any problem with the rest of the halyard since there isn't much pressure on it when hoisting or dropping the sails. Haven't had any problems with the main and I don't anticipate any for a while. I don't have eye splices on the halyards. I'm using buntline hitches.
