Carpet eh?
That brings an idea to mind. Anyone who has worked in an office building has probably seen the carpet they have on the floor in most buildings. Its a short fibered, tough as nails material. The examples I have dealt with might be an ideal fix for this. They come in two by two foot self adhesive sections, that can be removed and replaced with little problem. This would allow you to get behind them for anything from repairs to rewiring. These carpet tiles also have a thick rubber backing, which might help in insulating. When they are placed right, following the arrows on the bottom so all tiles are facing the same way, the seams are practically invisible. It's very durable, easy to install because you do it in sections, and easy to maintain or replace as needed. Now, where to get it? Beats me...might want to ask at a carpet store. I no longer work in commercial construction, so I can't find out the make, or supplier...Josh
