may or may not

Hello Jim, By just changing pitch one can often increase the obtainable speed, as long as the engine can support the additional load the additional pitch produces. A way to determine how the current propeller pitch combo are affecting the engine with load, is to be away from the dock in gear and giving it full throttle. If the Rpm’s climb above the rated engine full load rating increase the pitch. If the Rpm’s fall short the pitch should then be reduced. Sometimes going to a three blade will help in speed. This increase however often takes place when the vessel is introduced to a heavy wind or sea. If you would like to zap back to me your obtainable engine Rpm’s, make model of motor, boat info and the current speeds I would be happy to look them over for you to see if either option is a viable one. Hope this helps. kwoody@pyiinc.com Kevin
