Changing masthead bulb

I'm trying to swap out the old bulbs for led and I'll be damned if I can figure out how to remove the old bulb.
It's a Hunter 26 but probably on other models as well. I can get inside the housing but the bottom of the bulb sits in a large socket and the top has a heavy Guage stainless part holding it down. I tried pulling and twisting but it won't come out. Is there a trick to this thing?

Call thr forum store on this site and ask Al or Mike how to do this as they are former Hunter employees. For those of you who own or did own the hunter 26 or 260, can you help here. I think the same light is the same for the on the 23.5, 19 and 240 too. Due to memory loss, I have forgotten

Im pretty sure thats a Perko masthead light. According to the instalation manual, it takes a festoon style bulb. You should be able to lift up and out to remove the bulb. Replacement bulb in pic.

You might want to consider replacing the entire fixture depending on how much corrosion is inside

It has two bulbs

One is the steaming light and the other is the anchor light. to get the 360 degree light both bulbs are illuminated

The top of the fixture is held on with a Philips screw then the glass pieces slide out giving you access to the bulbs.

Push up on the metal part and it pops right out.

That said, I always replace mine as the lens gets so cloudy. Here's the part at Defender. Available a bunch of different places. Perko Item #1183DP0CHR
