Beginning in August, SailboatOwners.com will introduce a test of a revised expert forum on technical matters of interest to sailors. We plan a monthly, rotating participation by marine manufacturers, field experts, tradespeople and others in marine enterprises. We believe this will provide important and useful information to forum participants through a focused process. We will schedule a week of technical interaction and perhaps a week of follow up, each month. We'll advertise the topic in advance and solicit questions and issues, also in advance, for discussion. We hope there will be an opportunity for broader participation and quality interaction within the forum. It's an exciting prospect for us! A long-term site contributor, Rick Dinon, will manage the project. Rick has sailed California waters for forty years in a variety of sailboats and, he says, has fouled up often enough to have a strong personal interest in the new forum. Rick can be reached at rickd@sailboatowners.com for your comments and suggestions. This new forum concept will replace the existing expert forums, including those on refrigeration, props and drive trains, sail trim, and gel coat and plastics. It will not effect the *unique* Head Mistress Forum and Peggie's regular contributions. We wish to thank Gary Buttrey of WAECO Adler Barbour, Kevin Woody of PYI, Don Guillette, author of the Sail Trim Chart and Guide, and Dr. Anthony Willis of Island Girl Products, for many years of valuable and entertaining participation. ph.
