Change... it's coming to your computer soon

I'm sure you've noticed that our forums, boat info, home pages, and classified ads will go down from time to time. Sometimes it's down for a few seconds, sometimes for a few minutes.

To spare you the technical mumbo jumbo, the software we built the site on in 1999 is obsolete now and must be replaced. So, in addition to making the site more stable, we're taking this opportunity to upgrade the features you use most... and to add a few more we think you'll like.

But, as with any change, there's good news and bad news.

The bad news is, the features you know will soon be changing.

The good news is, the site will much more fun to use... and it will be stable!

Here are just a few of the features you'll have soon:

- multiple photos, pdfs, or other uploads on forum posts

- personal photo galleries

- personal web sites (no coding required)

- improved user profiles

- innovative ways to support civility among members of our community

- a new wiki to replace the KnowledgeBase

- forum archives integrated with the active forums... one search for _all_ posts!

- return of the Photo Caption Contest

- new, easier to read graphics

We're hoping to launch the new site around the end of the month. Meanwhile, I'll keep you updated and hopefully post a preview or two.
