Does anyone have any input on discarding a inboard and installing a outboard on a 77 25'. I am considering this move and would like your input.

I have never done, and I don't have an H25, but I don't see a problem with this... You MAY need/want to reinforce the transom on the inside where the motor mount will be, but that's about it. I would get at least a 9.9, better yet 15 hp LONG shaft outboard. 4-stroke and electric start would be nice to have, too. Outboard
If its the same hull as my 77, there should be no problem. My motor mount is in the center, which swings up and down. I use a 7.5 horse, which is plenty for that boat.

You might be able to overdo it!
This is probably a good way to go for a lake boat, but where you may have to motor in significant waves, it would be possible to dunk the motor. Just to show how far some will go, I saw a sailboat in the boatyard the other day, about 32 feet, that had a 175 hp.(yes, 175 hp!) outboard mounted on an obviously added mount like an offshore power boat. didn't see it move, but it should be interesting if he uses all that power! who cares about hull speed if we have gas!
