Caution
Use caution when stringing a regular hammock to the forestay. The stay normally carries load along its length. Loads it and the hardware it attaches to were designed for.Attaching a line to the stay and applying load perpendicular to the stay actually produces a tricky sort of mechanical advantage. So if the hammock line has X pounds of tension, it will produce many times X of tension on the stay and the fittings to which the stay is attached.I ran one end of a backyard hammock over a wood A-frame and then to a very large tent stake in the ground. Seems I couldn't find a stake that the hammock line was not capable of bending. The geometry is a little different in this situation, but it still shows how the loads can be much bigger than you think.Personally, I really want a hammock on my H26, so when I come up with a solution I'll post it.Ron Mehringers/v Hydro-Therapy
