next step

Now what??
Primer & recaulked with 3M 4200.
once dry, i sanded and painted it. I didnt put back the little stainless steel plates, less holes, less problems.
i ll send more pictures this afternoon.

I have filled the holes with epoxy. the balsa core was rotten around the chainplates.
did you by chance remove the rotten core material and refill with thickened epoxy....now would be a good time to remove the SS bolts and check them for corrosion as well as your Chain plates....along with rott in your knees...

I did filled with a seringe as much epoxy as i could. painfull job, it was coming out from under, difficult to locate and tape it from under. i couldnt take out the rotten balsa core. that would have been a much longer project...
i checked the chainplates and cleaned them, they look good, but i didnt take out the bolts, i tried for one but it was so hard to turn i got afraid to break it.
my chainplates where very badly leaking, now that is over and i m sure it will last long.
i ve no worry for the bolts or the chainplates.

good job on the syringe Joul...yes it is a daunting task to use...as far as your English is concerned it is just fine....i have trouble spaeking... Greek.... lol..... as it is greek to me.....
