Chainplate fix
Hi Henry, If you have no bulkhead rot, repair is straightforward. Simply remove shroud after securing halyards to rail or other suitable hard points, remove bolts and pull up the chainplate, clean around the hole (I scraped out an inch balsa core and filled with epoxy mix) then replace chainplate and bedding. I used a butyl rubber caulk which stays flexible as 5200 sets a bit hard.I also replaced one bulkhead as it was water damaged. See "Blew Bayou" photos on www.groups.msn.com/ranger23. Howard
