Chainplate U-Bolts - 1994 H26

My 1994 H26 has an unused chainplate U-bolt about 3 feet forward of the 2 chainplate U-bolts for the upper and lower shrouds. Is this standard Hunter equipment or was it added by a previous owner? What's is it for? Thanks! BrianW

Preventer Perhaps

Check and see if your boom vang reaches to the unused 'U' bolt. Could be an attachment point for a preventer. I often attach my boom vang to the toe rail of our boat and use it as a preventer when sailing down wind wing on wing.Jeff
