Chainplate sealant, Stainless Steel and fiberglass

what product is actually recommended for sealing the chainplates where they go through the deck?e.g., adhesion to both Stainless steel and fiberglass.

By accident ...

I discovered 3M 5200 works if it is diluted a bit. I applied it on the chainplate/deck joint in a mild drizzle/mist. The mist gently washed the sealant into the cracks where it set up and sealed.That was a year ago - so far, so good.

There are two very good liquid sealants on the market, both by BoatLIFE. Liquid Life Calk and Liquid Life Seal.They are both about the consistency of maple syrup. The Liquid Life Calk is available in white and black, the Liquid Life Seal is available in clear.I would suggest the Liquid Life Seal. It is fast curing and comes in a "half" cartridge which makes it much easier to use than a squeeze tube.
