Chain Capacity of 340 & effects on handling

Two questions....Can anyone tell me the capacity of the chain locker on a 340?Ideally in our Great Barrier Reef cruising areas we need about 110 yards or 100 metres of chain.Also does anyone out there know if the 340 can handle having so much chain foreward in regard to the handling characteristics?

That's a bunch of weight

You are proposing adding about 300 pounds or more to the extreme pointy end of the boat. I would expect this amount of weight to make the boat pitch more than normal. This would be accentuated whenever the water tank is full. On the positive side, I think the anchor locker is strong enough to hold that amount of weight; my only concern is how it would affect the handling of the boat.

We are just in the final stages of acquiring a new 340 and intend to take her to the Whitsundays in October/November so we are VERY interested in what you decide regarding the amount of chain to carry.Please let us know.
