hello all, I have a big problem with my spreaders tearing up my jib. this weekend I had a long race and it really tore up the seam on the jib and now it has to go into a shop. The sail is only a year old and I'm sure it will come back stronger and more proctected but are there any advice how I can protect it from the spreader ? I see on westmarine there are plastic to attach on the wire (anyone kno what size wire I have on a 361 99 ?) and some have leather... are either preferred to anyone ? Regards Gaute

Spreader Boots

Gaute, I would recommend spreader boots. These are plastic coverings that go over the ends of the spreaders and have little arms that also cover the shouds. You tape the boots in place. Most marine stores would have at least two different sizes. The boots will stop the chafing. Murray
