Got this photo from a CG cutter in Key West. Hope the leaves can be seen clear enough. I thought this was kind of interesting.

It's the the USS JERRY GARCIA. What happened to the little wine bottle & cheese platter stencils from all the sailboats they've boarded? They should fix that jagged edge before someone gets hurt.

Petersea: I saw that but did not understand what it meant. Kudos. Actually I am surprised they don't have more drug busts. The war on drugs started with Nixon, methinks. That is 36 years meaning only one bust every 3.6 years.

One sub in the past 36 years does not seem like a record to be proud of.

I googled the USS Jerry Garcia and found no reference to a coast guard ship. There is one navy distroyer later designated as a frigate called the USS Garcia.
Higgs, do you recall the proper name of the ship?

Higgs,

I would think (and someone correct me if I am wrong please) that the "score card" would be for that individual ship and even possible for that individual crew. Kind of like the planes in WW II with the "kill count" Maybe someone else can add..........

The war on drugs has been going on since Nixon (I think). I would think that a vessel given the mission of intercepting the drug trade would at least score one a year if not more. We are getting into politics here, so it may not be appropriate for this forum.

Higgs, she has been a museum ship since 1989- not much chance of catching anything then except tourists... -Paul
