Remember where I said "for several reasons". It matters NOT if it is the same stuff in the can. I'll go so far as to say BETTER product in the can, (which I doubt so much I wouldn't believe it if Jesus told it to me),..........I would not buy or use it.

Period.

I've got my reasons, and let's just leave it to that.
Well now you've got us all itchin' for the details!

even if it is the same product relabeled it is probably material that just failed the quality control checks, or it was excess inventory at risk of exceeding shelf life. In either case the quality may be a little inferior. On another note, how much does Chris want to tell us his reasons?

I've found that house brands are not exactly the same product; there is always something different from the name brand even when they are made by the name brand manufacturer at the same plant. The recipe is just a little different, and the product, while very similar, is different in color, texture, longevity, ease of application, etc. I've never mistaken West Marine's CPP bottom paint for Micron's CSC, but they are quite similar although recognizably different. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Micron made CPP, but I can't see any major manufacturer allowing their hard-earned brand-named forumulas to be sold more cheaply.
