Just had bottem painted and new rope & wire pendant attached to CB. While in the slip, should I keep the CB up or down?

I keep my 25 centerboard up when not sailing. When the boat rocks, the centerboard doesn't rock with the hull until there is pressure on the pin. I don't like to put that extra stress on the pin and centerboard. r.w.landau

Keep it up for fewer propblems
My 192 was moored in the Susquehanna River last September during a severe flood. The center board was up and didn't catch debre as it flowed down the river. My boat survived while others didn't.

I leave mine
just an inch or two of pendant below fully up. This way if it sticks I have some pull room to work with. About 6 months ago it did stick and my daughter had pulled it up tight. Had a heck of a time getting it back down again. So now I pull it all the way up and then let back down just an inch or two. Russ

I have never had a problem with it sticking but I do it that way as an added precaution.
