I keep my 25 centerboard up when not sailing. When the boat rocks, the centerboard doesn't rock with the hull until there is pressure on the pin. I don't like to put that extra stress on the pin and centerboard.r.w.landau
My 192 was moored in the Susquehanna River last September during a severe flood. The center board was up and didn't catch debre as it flowed down the river. My boat survived while others didn't.
just an inch or two of pendant below fully up. This way if it sticks I have some pull room to work with. About 6 months ago it did stick and my daughter had pulled it up tight. Had a heck of a time getting it back down again. So now I pull it all the way up and then let back down just an inch or two.Russ
