Centerboard uphaul
Frank, you did not say what year your 23.5 is but my boat is a 1995 H26. In my owners manual for that year it also includes all the spec's for the 95 H23.5 model. On the starboard cabin top you should have a sheeve at the mast step that leads to the starboard deck organizer and then to the centerboard blocks and then the centerboard padeye and clam cleats. At least that is what the manual says. Our H26 is the same. It has the sheeve that leads the line from the mast step to the organizer that leads all the lines to the cockpit. The centerboard line then has a block set (2) blocks (or pulleys) that multiply the pulling power on the centerboard line to raise the centerboard and then the centerboard padeye or line lock. (it takes a very good grunt to pull the centerboard up) I'm not good enough yet to know the difference between a padeye or line lock but once you raise the centerboard line you must damn well lock the line down to prevent the board from falling. This line and the centerboard must be in the full up position and locked before you try to launch your boat from a trailer, or the centerboard will harpoon the trailer, and prevent the boat from floating gracefully away from your trailer. All this time 1000 poo boaters will be watching. Good luck, Ray
