My centerboard rope broke on my recently purchased 192. How does it attach on the centerboard? Also, is there a way to fix it without hauling the boat? At the moment I have a line around the hull to hold the centerboard up, since my dock space is in only 4 feet of water.

I think if you remove the cover where the line leads to the board from the top of the trunk, you might have enough room to work, to tie another line. Other than that, you need to haul, and go from the bottom. I am also having cb problems. Mine sticks. Also, the trunk has developed a leak at the cracks around the bottom, in the inside. Any experience in this area?

Pat - Do some preventative glass work.

Pat - If your boat is leaking around the base of the CB trunk, I would haul and deal with it before the laminate is damaged further. I would at the very least make absolutely certain that it is rectified before the first freaze of the season or you risk allowing ice to delaminate your boat. A couple of strips of glass and an afternoon with a sander ought to solve the problem. Justin - O'day Owner's Web

need a new rope

You will have to put it on the trailer then you will have to block the trailer then jack the boat up off the trailer 6 to12 inches. the rope is attached through a hole that you might have to dig out glass or compound.then send the new line from the top down then tie a tight knot push the knot back in the hole the i filled the hole with boatlife caulk jacking the boat up was the tricky part i used two small jacks and several pieces of 2x6s and 2x4s
