Oday 222 USA
My Oday 222 has a shoal keel with a pendant line attached on the aft edge of the centerboard (centerboard pivots from slot in centerboard). On attached picture, the orange line represents the pendant line. Last season, I had a problem with weeds collecting in the apex of the centerboard and pendant line. Sometimes, I could remove the weeds by backing the boat and moving/shaking centerboard up and down. Many times I had to dive under the boat and remove the weeds manually.

How can I prevent weeds from collecting in the apex?
How can I remove the weeds in the apex without diving under boat and manual removal?

Best to avoid weeds, but when encountered, raise the board as much as possible. Expose as little of the pendant as necessary.

Charlie's right. My boat has a simular rig for the cb. About the only cure is to prevent the weeds from coming close to the pendant. I lower my board when sailing upwind but when reaching I raise it 50%. Anything downwind and the board is totally up.
Your supplied manual page shows a keel like area that houses the centerboard and is the same as my boat. That is enough keel for reaching in anything short of a real blow. Board up, no weeds.
