Centerboard help on an O'Day 22

Hope everybody is doing well!
It seems that my centerboard rope is frayed very bad, Is this an easy fix? it's hanging on a few strands. I was checking the boards but found some inconclusive answers. I was wondering if it's just a matter of an eyelet that attaches to the board and somehow I could fish a new line up through the pipe to the companionway where it's attached by a cleat.

Is there any way that you can get at the centerboard to let it down? The pendant line hooks on to the trailing edge of your centerboard near the bottom. I'm really not sure if the pendant line has a shackle on the end that connects to a small hole in the centerboard like mine though. You're going to have to get at it and find out. Take a strong twine and tie it to the end of your pendant line in the cockpit. Then pull your pendant line out from the bottom of the keel whereby pulling in the twine. Take your new pendant line and tie the twine to the end and pull it up into the cockpit. What I always do is whip the pendant line first. Then using a large needle, hook the twine to it and push through the pendant line whipping and tie with a small Bowline. Wrap a layer of tape around it so that it doesn't get hung up when your pull it up into the cockpit. Your centerboard keel slot may have a small sheave up inside the keel slot that the pendant line rides on, but I'm not sure of that either. I know that mine does and some of the larger O'Days have small sheaves inside. You should be able to see up inside with a flashlight. The strap for the sheave is inside the cabin where the pendant line pipe connects to a hump in the floor. If you have one, you should be able to spot the small stainless steel strap and the two small bolts with nuts, sticking up from inside the keel slot.
