Within 1 hour of purchasing a 17 foot Ocean Islander - I was turtled in my lake in high winds. After an adventurous rescue I can repair all my standing rigging except the centerboard cable which was partially cut. I cannot figure how to get to the attachment at the centerboard to run a new one. I've been up on a lift with the board down without luck. Help

A little more info needed perhaps

From the photo of an Islander 17' I found for sale on the web it looks like the centerboard is in a trunk in the forward cockpit. There should be a bolt that the centerboard pivots on that can be taken out so the centerboard will come out all the way so you can find the wire pennant attachment point. That is if the centerboard trunk is sealed in fiberglass as it appears to be in the photo I saw. It could be a two man job to jostle the centerboard back into position in order to re-bolt it. Keep your wire working tools handy for re-doing the C/B pennant. The link below shows some pictures of an Islander 17' for sail. Good luck.
