Well this forum has been so very valuable and I am close to actually sailing this H26...
Not close enough though. I went out for a first sail and when I went to lower the centerboard the rigging fouled so I did what I could to unfoul it and the photo you see is its present condition. I ran one line ( the free end ) thru the jammer to secure it and the other end I put in the little inline jammer just to secure it. I was thinking of using the free jammer block jib sheet jammer as the jib is on a furler. Probably, that's where I made the error that caused this mess.
The manual shows the configuration but it is just not clear to me as usual. I am looking at it now and it appears a little clearer now.
Wait a moment, I am confused again...
How can I tell if the centerboard is in the full up position? Pull it until it stops? Then configure the second block as shown in the diagram pretty close to the tie on u eye? Position info of the blocks would help also.
I am feeling like the idiot and maybe a dunce cap and the corner is where I should be.
This is a new boat to me and I have to lower the mast and refit the running rigging as I placed one of the lower shrouds in backwards. Just to give you and idea of my errors so far. The CDI Furler needs to be refitted again as the P O modified the cap and I need a new one that should arrive Wed or Thursday. I see the sailing season slipping away quickly but I can not conpromise safety by rushing to sail... I have a boom vang with some light blocks and light line that is probably not a boom vang as it appears that it would be twisted at the blocks where they attach. It is probably a topping lift set up as I believe boom vangs have haughtier sheets and blocks... It appears that this may be the only thing I have been correct on... I do not have a photo as it is on the boat a distance away...
Instructions, thoughts, diagrams, directions and any help you can spare would be welcome...
Thanks to all who responded in my mast raising event that was about the only thing that went ok (besides the engine starting)
I have been working on this throught the 90 degree weather and the futher I go, the deeper in i trouble i get.
