When I got this boat it had a pole rumming from the keel to the inside ofthe cabin under the mast, It ran right through the center of the v-berth.I removed it and had a custom engineered beam made to support the deck.I am still having a problem with the deck "flexing" when under full sail, I am going to re-install the pole if I can't get a better idea, so if one of you guys(or gals) has a fix for this problem please let me know. Compression Post

The compression post is how the boat came from the factory. It's visible in the sales brochure pictures and there is reinforcment molded in the liner where the compression post attaches.You need to have something to support the loads from the mast and since the 192 uses struts for the standing rigging instead of bulkheads, I don't see too many practical alternatives to the compression post. If you can find a picture of the interior of a Precision 18, you might be able to copy that arrangement. It uses a transverse beam that carries the load to a pair of partial bulkheads.
