center opening 42 passage

Hello. Has anyone replaced the opening metal piece on the toe rail on their passage?? the opening on the toe rail for lines going to the center cleat.

I haven't seen anyplace where you can get that hardware. Have you thought about just cutting a opening/slot in the toe rail and filing it really smooth to minimize chafe?
