center board

I noticed my center board all the way down is still on a 30deg angle. Does the board go vertical like some other boats or does it sweep back in the full down position ( 32 aft cabin).My boat is difficult to steer on a beat and I thought the center board position my be the problem.

Centerboard

My understanding is that the board is supposed to be pretty much straight down when deployed. Is there possibly something in the trunk preventing it from turning forward? Can you swim it forward?I have no first hand experience with the 32 so I may be off. What are the symptoms of your squirrely steering?Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Centerboard 32 cc

I bought a 32 in Oct,02 and the centerboard would not go down,turns out that the cable strands were cut and preventing the board from going all the way down,they were tangeled inside the tube (also lots of other crap stuck up inside the trunk)Its possible that the cable could be too short?

Check this link and see if this is the position of your CB. To me it appears to rest as you descibed in the fully down position.
