Some owners have reported leaking around the uphaul cable opening, but since it is well above the waterline, it should not leak as much as you are reporting. leading me to think something is not normal! What some owners have done is to replace the
"plastic donut" that lines the hole with a longer piece of copper pipe that bridges the gap some boats have between the CB trunk and the interior liner of the cuddy. As the boat moves through the water, water can surge up into the CB trunk, but it should not be significantly pouring in through that opening at the forward top of the trunk..... maybe a little water, but not "A lot of water". Position of the CB might have some minor effect on this..... since the CB will somewhat block the water from splashing towards that hole, but it is still strange that so much water is even reaching that hole. I could see a possible problem if the hole was near the aft end of the CB trunk, but not with it being at the forward end!
I have never had trouble with water coming in there on my boat. I guess I'm lucky!
