Hello All, I am adding cellphone weather radar to my cell phone and my research with Verizon lists 5 options (MyCast 5, WeatherBug, AccuWeather,MyCast Weather, Weather Channel and Weathernews). Any comments on which is best overall and for Doppler Radar? Thanks, Bill.

Weather Channel

I have used the weather channel on my Verizon. Not bad--it's a little too small of a screen. It has worked pretty well for me in a pinch. I like the "animate" feature and the zoom. I'm having Sirius satellite weather radar put into my Raymarine (actually it's in-but the boat isn't yet). I'm looking forward to using it this year.

i use my blackberry and the weather channel for free

You can see the satellite and radar images, and you can zoom in. I can't animate mine because I haven't purchaed the extra service, but I'm happy with the free service.

I use weather underground on my Treo.

I am able to get live information from the Santa Monica bay buoy, including wave height, wind, temperature, etc. I know that it is current and accurate. This site give me forecasts: http://www.wunderground.com/MAR/PZ/655.html This one is live buoy information: http://www.wunderground.com/MAR/buoy/46025.html

Try the VHF for free

Most modern VHF radios have weather channels and you set it to alarm when they anticipate bad weather . I make it a point to show my students how to do it . On several lessons I have had it go off . One day I handed the radio to a student and told her that the alarm will go of any time now ,it did and she was amazed .How did I know channel 16 gave a security for a tstorm .
